Shouldyoustarttoslidewhiledrivingonsnowyoricyroads,turnthe

Avoidsuddenapplicationsofpowerandquickchangesofdirectionon
snowandice.Applytheacceleratorslowlyandsteadilywhenstarting
fromafullstop.

Avoidsuddenbrakingaswell.Althougha4WDvehiclemayaccelerate
betterthanatwo-wheeldrivevehicleinsnowandice,itwon’tstop
anyfaster,becauseasinothervehicles,brakingoccursatallfour
wheels.Donotbecomeoverconfidentastoroadconditions.
Makesureyouallowsufficientdistancebetweenyouandother
vehiclesforstopping.Driveslowerthanusualandconsiderusingone
ofthelowergears.Inemergencystoppingsituations,avoidlockingof
thewheels.Usea“squeeze”technique,pushonthebrakepedalwitha
steadilyincreasingforcewhichallowsthewheelstobrakeyet
continuetorollsothatyoumaysteerinthedirectionyouwantto
travel.Ifyoulockthewheels,releasethebrakepedalandrepeatthe
squeezetechnique.SinceyourvehicleisequippedwithaFourWheel
Anti-LockBrakeSystem(ABS),applythebrakesteadily.Donot
