CompassCalibration
Thecompasscanbemanually
calibrated. Onlycalibrate the
Thevehiclemayhaveacompassin
theDriverInformation Center(DIC).
compassinamagnetically clean
andsafelocation, suchasanopen
parkinglot,wheredrivingthe
vehicleincirclesisnotadanger.
Itissuggested tocalibrate away
fromtallbuildings, utilitywires,
manholecovers,orotherindustrial
structures, ifpossible.
CompassZone
Thezoneissettozoneeight.Ifyou
donotliveinzoneeightordriveout
ofthearea,thevariance needsto
bechangedtotheappropriate zone.
Toadjustforcompassvariance, use
thefollowing procedure:
IfCALappearsintheDICdisplay,
thecompassshouldbecalibrated.

Findthevehicle's current
location andvariance zone
numberonthemap.

Procedure
IftheDICdisplaydoesnotshowa
heading, forexample, NforNorth,
ortheheadingdoesnotchange
aftermakingturns,theremaybea
strongmagnetic fieldinterfering with
thecompass.Interference maybe
causedbyamagneticantenna
mount,magneticnotepadholder,
oranyothermagnetic item.Turnoff
thevehicle, movethemagnetic
item,thenturnonthevehicleand
calibrate thecompass.

Donotsetthecompasszone
whenthevehicleismoving.On
anautomatic transmission
vehicle, onlysetitwhenthe
vehicleisinP(Park).Ona
manualtransmission vehicle,
onlysetitwhenthevehicleis
stopped.
Zones1through15are
available.
3. Presstheset/reset buttonto
scrollthroughandselectthe
appropriate variance zone.

Pressthetrip/fuel buttonuntil
thevehicleheading, for
example, NforNorth,is
displayed intheDIC.
Pressthevehicleinformation
buttonuntilPressToChange
CompassZonedisplays.
