missingfuelcapallowsfuelto

Afewdrivingtripswiththecap
properly installed shouldturnthe
lightoff.
Somestate/provincial andlocal
governments haveormightbegin
programs toinspecttheemission
controlequipment onthevehicle.
Failuretopassthisinspection could
preventgettingavehicle
registration.
Herearesomethingstoknowto
helpthevehiclepassaninspection:
Ifoneormoreofthese

fuelbrandused.Itwillrequireat
leastonefulltankoftheproper
fueltoturnthelightoff.

inspection ifthecheckengine
lightisonwiththeengine
running, oriftheignition is
placedinON/RUNandthelight
isnoton.

Ifthevehiclehasbeendriven
throughadeeppuddleofwater,
thevehicle's electrical system
mightbewet.Thecondition is
usuallycorrected whenthe
electrical systemdriesout.A
fewdrivingtripsshouldturnthe
lightoff.

Ifnoneoftheabovehavemade
thelightturnoff,yourdealer/retailer
cancheckthevehicle. The
dealer/retailer hasthepropertest
