Pushthelatchplateintothe
buckleuntilitclicks.
Tounlatchthebelt,pushthebutton
onthebuckle.Thebeltshould
returntoitsstowedposition.
Pulluponthelatchplateto
makesureitissecure.Ifthebelt
isnotlongenough,seeSafety
BeltExtender on page 2‑25.
Beforeadoorisclosed,besurethe
safetybeltisoutoftheway.Ifa
doorisslammedagainstasafety
belt,damagecanoccurtoboththe
safetybeltandthevehicle.
Position thereleasebuttonon
thebucklesothatthesafetybelt
couldbequicklyunbuckled if
necessary.

Tomakethelapparttight,
pullupontheshoulder belt.
Itmaybenecessary topull
stitching onthesafetybelt
throughthelatchplatetofully
tightenthelapbeltonsmaller
occupants.
