turnthevehicleoff.Thenslightly
reclinethevehicleseatback
andadjusttheseatcushion,
ifadjustable, tomakesurethat
thevehicleseatback isnot
pushingthechildrestraint into
theseatcushion.
IftheOffIndicatorisLitforan
Adult-SizeOccupant
Ifachildrestraint hasbeeninstalled
andtheonindicator islit:

Turnthevehicleoff.
Removethechildrestraint from
thevehicle.

Removeanyadditional items
fromtheseatsuchasblankets,
cushions, seatcovers,seat
heaters, orseatmassagers.
Alsomakesurethechild
restraint isnottrappedunder
thevehicleheadrestraint.
Ifthishappens, adjustthehead
restraint. SeeHeadRestraints
on page 2‑2.

Reinstall thechildrestraint
following thedirections
provided bythechildrestraint
manufacturer andreferto
SecuringChildRestraints
(RearSeat) on page 2‑57 or
SecuringChildRestraints
(FrontPassenger Seat) on
page 2‑59.
Ifapersonofadult-size issitting
intherightfrontpassenger seat,
buttheoffindicator islit,itcould
bebecausethatpersonisnot
sittingproperly intheseat.

Restartthevehicle.
Thepassenger sensingsystem
mayormaynotturnoffthe
airbagforachildinachild
restraint depending uponthe
child'sseatingpostureandbody
build.Itisbettertosecurethe
childrestraint inarearseat.
