TheEPBwillautomatically releaseif
thevehicleisrunning, placedinto
gearandanattemptismadeto
driveaway.Avoidrapidacceleration
whentheEPBisapplied,to
TractionControl
System(TCS)
Thisvehiclehasabrakeassist
featuredesigned toassistthedriver
instopping ordecreasing vehicle
speedinemergency driving
conditions. Thisfeatureusesthe
stability systemhydraulic brake
controlmoduletosupplement the
powerbrakesystemunder
conditions wherethedriverhas
quicklyandforcefully appliedthe
brakepedalinanattempttoquickly
stoporslowdownthevehicle. The
stability systemhydraulic brake
controlmoduleincreases brake
pressure ateachcornerofthe
vehicleuntiltheABSactivates.
Minorbrakepedalpulsations or
pedalmovement duringthistime
isnormalandthedrivershould
continue toapplythebrakepedal
asthedrivingsituation dictates.
Thebrakeassistfeaturewill
automatically disengage when
thebrakepedalisreleased or
brakepedalpressureisquickly
decreased.
ThevehiclehasaTractionControl
System(TCS)thatlimitswheel
spin.Thisisespecially usefulin
slippery roadconditions. Ona
preserve parkbrakelininglife.
TheEPBcanalsobeusedto
preventrollbackforvehicles witha
manualtransmission takingoffona
hill.Inasituation wherenorollback
isdesired, anappliedEPBwillallow
bothfeettobeusedfortheclutch
andaccelerator pedalsin
rear-wheel-drive vehicle, thesystem
operates ifitsensesthatoneor
bothoftherearwheelsarespinning
orbeginning tolosetraction. Onan
All-Wheel-Drive (AWD)vehicle, the
systemwilloperateifitsensesthat
anyofthewheelsarespinning or
beginning tolosetraction. Whenthis
happens, thesystembrakesthe
spinning wheel(s)and/orreduces
enginepowertolimitwheelspin.

Inthissituation, performthenormal
clutchand/oraccelerator actions
required tobeginmovingthe
vehicle. Thereisnoneedtopush
theswitchtoreleasetheEPB.
