StartingProcedure
STARTformanyseconds,
cranking willbestoppedafter
foruptoamaximumof
15seconds.Waitatleast
1.
Withyourfootofftheaccelerator
pedal,turntheignition keyto
START.Ifthevehiclehasthe
keylessaccesssystem,pushthe
ignition controlknobinand
rotatetheknobtotheSTART
position. Whentheenginestarts,
letgooftheignition. Theidle
speedwillgodownasyour
enginegetswarm.Donotrace
theengineimmediately after
starting it.Operatetheengine
andtransmission gentlytoallow
theoiltowarmupandlubricate
allmovingparts.

down.Whentheenginestarts,
letgoofthekeyandaccelerator.
Ifthevehiclestartsbrieflybut
thenstopsagain,dothesame
thing.Thisclearstheextra
gasoline fromtheengine.Donot
racetheengineimmediately
afterstarting it.Operatethe
engineandtransmission gently
untiltheoilwarmsupand
motordamage.Topreventgear
damage,thissystemalso
prevents cranking iftheengine
isalreadyrunning. Engine
cranking canbestoppedby
turningtheignition switchto
ACC/ACCESSORYor
LOCK/OFF.
Notice: Cranking theenginefor
longperiodsoftime,byreturning
thekeytotheSTARTposition
immediately aftercrankinghas
ended,canoverheat anddamage
thecrankingmotor,anddrainthe
battery.Waitatleast15seconds
betweeneachtry,toletthe
lubricates allmovingparts.

starting theengineandprotects
components. Iftheignition keyis
turnedtotheSTARTposition,
andthenreleased whenthe
enginebeginscranking, the
enginewillcontinue cranking for
afewsecondsoruntilthe
crankingmotorcooldown.
2. Iftheenginedoesnotstartafter
5‐10seconds,especially invery
coldweather(below0°For
−18°C),itcouldbefloodedwith
toomuchgasoline. Trypushing
theaccelerator pedalalltheway
tothefloorandholdingitthere
asyouholdthekeyinSTART
properly.Anyresulting damage
wouldnotbecoveredbythe
vehiclewarranty.
