THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE STARTING YOUR VEHICLE
If the alarm system is arm ed and the battery becom es
disconnected the system will rem ain arm ed when the
battery is reconnected . The exterior lights will flash, the
horn will sou nd , and the ignition will not start the
vehicle. If this occurs, disarm the system .
The lights will fade to off after abou t 30 second s or they
will immediately fade to off once the ignition switch is
turned ON from the LOCK position.
NOTE:
•
None of the courtesy lights will operate if the dimmer
control is in the “defeat” position (extrem e downw ard
position), unless the overhead map/ read ing lights are
turned on manu ally.
Tamper Alert
If som ething has triggered the system in you r absence,
the horn will sou nd three times when you disarm the
system . Check the vehicle for tam pering.
REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY
ILLUMINATED ENTRY SYSTEM
The courtesy lights will turn on when you use the
Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transm itter or open any
door.
This system allow s you to lock or unlock the doors, open
the tru nk, or activate the panic alarm from distances up
to abou t 35 feet (11 meters) using a hand held rad io
transm itter. The transm itter need not be pointed at the
vehicle to activate the system .
This featu re also turns on the approach lighting in the
outsid e mirrors (if so equ ipped). For details, refer to
“Ou tsid e Mirrors with Turn Signal & Approach Light-
ing” und er “Mirrors” in Section 3 of this manu al.
NOTE: Inserting the Fob with Integrated Key into the
ignition switch disables all buttons on that transm itter;
how ever, the buttons on the rem aining transm itters will
