2.7L
Engine
The 2.7L engine is designed to meet all
emissions regu lations and provid e excel-
lent fuel econom y and perform ance when
using high quality unlead ed “regu lar”
gasoline having an octane rating of 87. The
use of prem ium gasoline is not recom -
mend ed. Und er norm al cond itions, the use of prem ium
gasoline will not provid e a benefit over high quality
regu lar gasolines, and in som e circumstances may resu lt
in poorer perform ance.
Light spark knock at low engine speed s is not harm ful to
you r engine. However, continu ed heavy spark knock at
high speed s can cause damage and immediate service is 5
requ ired . Poor quality gasoline can cause problem s such
as hard starting, stalling, and hesitations. If you experi-
ence these sym ptom s, try another brand of gasoline
before consid ering service for the vehicle.
3.5L
and 5.7L Engines
The 3.5L & 5.7L engine is designed to meet
