THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE STARTING YOUR VEHICLE
To Enter Rem ote Start Mode
Press and release the Remote Start button on
To Exit Rem ote Start Mode with out Drivin g the
Vehicle
the RKE transm itter twice within 5 second s.
The parking lights will flash and horn will
honk twice (if program med). Then, the engine
will start and the vehicle will rem ain in the Remote Start
mode for a 15-minu te cycle.
Allow the engine to run for the entire 15-minu te cycle.
To Exit Rem ote Start Mode & Drive the Vehicle
Before the end of the 15-minu te cycle, press and release
the UNLOCK button on the RKE transm itter to unlock
the doors and disarm the Vehicle Security Alarm (if
equ ipped). Then, prior to the end of the 15-minu te cycle,
insert the key into the ignition switch and turn the switch
to the ON position.
NOTE:
•
The park lamps will turn on and rem ain on during
Remote Start mode.
•
For security, power wind ow and power sunroof op-
eration (if so equ ipped) is disabled when the vehicle is
in the Remote Start mode.
NOTE: The ignition switch must be in the ON position
in ord er to drive the vehicle.
To Turn Off the Engin e While in Rem ote Start
Mode
Press and release the rem ote start button one time.

The engine can be started two consecu tive times (two
15-m
inu te cycles) with the RKE transm itter. However,
the ignition switch must be cycled to the ON position
before you can rep eat the start sequ ence for a third
cycle.
