STARTING AND OPERATING
pressu re will also increase as the vehicle is driven - this
is norm al and there shou ld be no adjustm ent for this
increased pressu re.
once the system receives the updated tire pressu res.
The vehicle may need to be driven for up to 10 minu tes
above 15 mph (25 km/ h) in ord er for the TPMS to
receive this inform ation.

•
The TPM System will warn the driver of a low tire
pressu re if the tire pressu re falls below the low-
pressu re warning limit for any reason, inclu ding low
tem peratu re effects and natu ral pressu re loss throu gh
the tire.
− For exam ple, you r vehicle may have a recom -
mend ed cold (parked for more than 3 hou rs) placard
pressu re of 30 psi (207 kPa). If the ambient tem pera-
ture is 68°F (20°C) and the measu red tire pressu re is
27
psi (186 kPa), a tem peratu re drop to 20°F (-7°C)
The TPM System will continu e to warn the driver of
low tire pressu re as long as the cond ition exists, and
will not turn off until the tire pressu re is at or above
the recom mend ed cold placard pressu re. Once the low
tire pressu re warning (Tire Pressu re Monitoring Tell-
tale Light) illuminates, you must increase the tire
pressu re to the recom mend ed cold placard pressu re in
ord er for the Tire Pressu re Monitoring Telltale Light to
turn off. The system will autom atically update and the
Tire Pressu re Monitoring Telltale Light will turn off
will decrease the tire pressu re to approxim ately 26
psi (179 kPa). This tire pressu re is sufficiently low
enou gh to turn ON the Tire Pressu re Monitoring
Telltale light. Driving the vehicle may cause the tire
pressu re to rise to approxim ately 27 psi (186 kPa),
but the Tire Pressu re Monitoring Telltale Light will
still be ON. In this situ ation, the Tire Pressu re
Monitoring Telltale Light will turn OFF only after
the tires are inflated to the vehicle’s recom mend ed
cold placard pressu re valu e.
