Failu re to load trailers heavier in front is the cause of
many trailer accidents.
Consid er the follow ing item s when computing the
weight on the rear axle of the vehicle:

The tongu e weight of the trailer.
Never exceed the maxim um tongu e weight stam ped on
you r bumper or trailer hitch.
The weight of any other typ e of cargo or equ ipment
put in or on you r vehicle.

The weight of the driver and all passengers.
NOTE: Remember that everything put into or on the
trailer adds to the load on you r vehicle. Also, additional
factory-installed
options, or dealer-installed options,
must be consid ered as part of the total load on you r
vehicle. Refer to the “Tire and Load ing Inform ation”
placard for the maxim um combined weight of occupants
and cargo for you r vehicle.
