Cargo must be secu rely tied before drivin g you r
veh icle. Improp erly secu red load s can fly off the
veh icle, particu larly at high speed s, resu ltin g in
person al injury or prop erty damage. Follow the roof
rack “Cau tion s” when carryin g cargo on you r roof
rack .
To avoid damage to the roof rack and veh icle, do not
exceed the maxim um roof rack load capacity of 150
lbs (68 kg). Alw ays distrib ute heavy load s as even ly
as possib le and secu re the load approp riately.
Long load s which exten d over the windshield , such
as wood panels or surfb oard s, should be secu red to
both the fron t and rear of the veh icle.
Travel at red uced speed s and turn corn ers carefu lly
when carryin g large or heavy load s on the roof rack .
Win d forces, due to natu ral causes or nearb y tru ck
traffic, can add sudden upward load s. This is esp e-
cially tru e on large flat load s and may resu lt in
damage to the cargo or you r veh icle.
