Selection Of Coolan t
Use higher concentrations (not to exceed 70%) if tem pera-
Use only the manu factu rers recom mend ed coolant, refer
to Recom mend ed Fluids, Lubricants and Genu ine Parts
for correct coolant typ e.
tures belowϪ34°F (Ϫ37°C) are anticip ated .
Use only high purity water such as distilled or deionized
water when mixing the water/ antifreeze solu tion. The
use of lower quality water will red uce the amount of
corrosion protection in the engine cooling system .
CAUTIO N!
Please note that it is the owner’s resp onsibility to main-
tain the prop er level of protection against freezing ac-
cord ing to the tem peratu res occurring in the area where
the vehicle is operated .
Failu re to use the prop er antifreeze could cause
rad iator pluggin g and engin e overh eatin g. Do not
mix antifreeze bran ds or use plain water alon e or
alcoh ol based antifreeze prod ucts. Do not use addi-
tion al rust inhibitors or antiru st prod ucts, as they
may not be compatib le with the rad iator coolan t and
may plug the rad iator.
NOTE: Mixing coolant typ es will decrease the life of the
engine coolant and will requ ire more frequ ent coolant 7
changes.
Coolin g System Pressu re Cap
Adding Coolan t
When adding coolant, a minim um solu tion of 50% eth-
ylene glycol antifreeze coolant in water shou ld be used .
The cap must be fully tightened to prevent loss of
coolant, and to insu re that coolant will retu rn to the
rad iator from the coolant recovery bottle.
