Do not overfill the coolant recovery bottle.
Check coolant freeze point in the system .
Hoses And Vacuum/Vapor Harnesses
If frequ ent coolant additions are requ ired , the cooling
system shou ld be pressu re tested for leaks.
Insp ect surfaces of hoses and nylon tubing for evid ence
of heat and mechanical damage. Hard or soft spots,
brittle rubber, cracking, tears, cuts, abrasions, and exces- 7
sive swelling ind icate deterioration of the rubber
•
Maintain coolant concentration at 50% ethylene glycol
antifreeze (minim um) in water for prop er corrosion
protection of you r engine which contains aluminu m
components.
Pay particu lar attention to the hoses nearest to high heat
sou rces such as the exhau st manifold . Insp ect hose rou t-
ing to be sure hoses do not tou ch any heat sou rce or
moving component that may cause heat damage or
mechanical wear.
•
Make sure that the rad iator and coolant recovery
bottle hoses are not kinked or obstru cted .
