Rem ove the fuel tan k filler tube cap (gas cap)
slow ly to preven t fuel spray from the filler neck
which may cause injury.
To avoid fuel spillage and overfillin g, do not “top
off” the fuel tan k after fillin g.
The volatility of som e gasolin es may cause a build
up of pressu re in the fuel tan k that may increase
while you drive. This pressu re can resu lt in a
spray of gasolin e and/or vap ors when you rem ove
the cap from a hot veh icle. Rem ovin g the cap
slow ly allow s the pressu re to ven t and preven ts
fuel spray.
NOTE: When the fuel nozzle “clicks” or shu ts off, the
fuel tank is full.

Never have any smoking materials lit in or near
the veh icle when the gas cap is rem oved or the
tan k filled .
Never add fuel when the engin e is running. This
is in violation of most state and fed eral fire
regu lation s and will cause the malfu nction indi-
cator ligh t to turn on.
