EMERGENCY SEAT BACK RELEASE
position 1 (Top) or position 2 (Mid dle), the left side rear
seat back can be unlatched by pulling down on the
glow -in-the-d ark lever attached to the left rear seat back
latching mechanism .

Do not allow child ren to have access to the liftgate
area with the rear shelf panel in position 1 (Top) or
position 2 (Middle), eith er by clim bing into the
liftgate from outsid e, or throu gh the insid e of the
veh icle. Alw ays close the liftgate when you r veh icle
is unatten ded. Once in the liftgate area, you ng chil-
dren may not be able to escap e, even if they entered
throu gh the rear seat. If trap ped in the liftgate,
child ren can die from suffocation or heat strok e.
As a security measu re, a Seat Back Emergency Release
lever is built into the left side rear seat back latching
mechanism . In the event of an ind ivid ual being locked
insid e the liftgate area with the rear shelf panel in
