Coolin g System — Drain , Flush And Refill
At the intervals show n on the Maintenance Sched ules,
the system shou ld be drained , flushed and refilled .
Check coolant protection every 12 months (before the
onset of freezing weather, where applicable). If coolant is
dirty or rusty in appearance, the system shou ld be
drained , flushed and refilled with fresh coolant.
If the solu tion is dirty and contains a consid erable
amount of sed iment, clean and flush with a reliable
cooling system cleaner. Follow with a thorou gh rinsing to
rem ove all deposits and chem icals. Discard old antifreeze
solu tion.
Check the front of the rad iator for an accumulation of
bugs, leaves, etc. Clean the rad iator by gently spraying
water from a gard en hose at the back of the core.
Check the coolant recovery bottle tubing for brittle rubber,
cracking, tears, cuts and tightness of the connection at the
bottle and rad iator. Insp ect the entire system for leaks.
