Special Additives
Freq uency Of Fluid Change
The manu factu rer recom mend s against the addition of
any fluid additives to the transaxle. The only excep tion to
this policy is the use of special dyes to aid in detecting
fluid leaks. The use of transm ission sealers shou ld be
avoid ed as they may adversely affect seals.
Und er norm al operating cond itions, the fluid installed at
the factory will give satisfactory lubrication for the life of
the vehicle. Fluid changes are not necessary unless the
follow ing cond itions exist:

The lubricant has becom e contam inated with water. If
contam inated with water, the fluid shou ld be changed
immediately.

Fluid Level Check
Protection Of Body And Pain t from Corrosion
Check the fluid level by rem oving the fill plug. The fluid
level shou ld be betw een the bottom of the fill hole and a
point not more that 3/ 16” (4.7 mm) below the bottom of
the hole.
Vehicle bod y care requ irem ents vary accord ing to geo-
grap hic locations and usage. Chem icals that make road s
passable in snow and ice, and those that are sprayed on
trees and road surfaces during other seasons, are highly
corrosive to the metal in you r vehicle. Outsid e parking,
Add fluid, if necessary, to maintain the prop er level.
