UNDERSTANDING YOUR INSTRUMENT PANEL
NOTE: If you r air cond itioning perform ance seem s
lower than expected , check the front of the A/ C con-
denser: located in front of the rad iator, for an accumula-
tion of dirt or insects. Clean with a gentle water spray
from behind the rad iator and throu gh the cond enser.
Fabric front fascia protectors may red uce air flow to the
cond enser, red ucing air cond itioning perform ance.
This control only operates in the Outsid e Air and Recir-
culate modes; there is no in betw een position. Do not
place the control betw een these positions.
NOTE: Continu ous use of the recircu late mode may
make the insid e air stu ffy and wind ow fogging may
occur. Extend ed use of this mode is not recom mend ed.
In cold or damp weather, the use of the Recircu late
position will cause wind ows to fog on the insid e becau se
of moistu re build up insid e the vehicle. For maxim um
defogging, select the Outsid e Air position.
Circu lation Con trol
Use this control to choose be-
tween outsid e air intake or
recircu lation of the air insid e
the vehicle. Only use the re-
circulate mode to tem porarily
block out any outsid e odors,
smoke, or dust and to cool the
interior rap idly upon initial
start up in very hot or hu mid
weather.
If the mode control is in the range betw een Mix and
Defrost and you choose the recircu late mode, the mode
control knob will autom atically move to the left of the
Mix position.
NOTE: If you choose Defrost mode and the Circu lation
control is in the recircu late Mod e, the system will auto-
matically switch to the Outsid e Air mode and the knob
will move to that position.
