Automatic Transaxle
All front wheel drive vehicles have a transm ission and
differential assem bly contained within a single hou sing.

Usin g a tran smission flu id oth er than the manufac-
turers recom mended flu id may cause deterioration
in tran smission shift quality and/or torq ue converter
shudder. Usin g a tran smission flu id oth er than the
manufactu rers recom mended flu id will resu lt in
more freq uent flu id and filter changes. Refer to
Recom mended Fluids, Lubrican ts and Genuine Parts
for correct flu id typ e.
Selection Of Lubrican t
It is important that the prop er lubricant is used in the
transaxle to assu re optimum transaxle perform ance. Use
only manu factu rers recom mend ed transm ission fluid,
refer to Recom mend ed Fluids, Lubricants and Genu ine
Parts for correct fluid typ e. It is important that the
transm ission fluid be maintained at the prescribed level
using the recom mend ed fluid.
Fluid Level Check
The fluid level in the autom atic transaxle shou ld be 7
checked whenever the vehicle is serviced . Operation with
an improp er fluid level will greatly red uce the life of the
transaxle and of the fluid.
