Defrost
Air is directed throu gh the wind shield and side
wind ow demist outlets. Use this mode with maxi-
mum fan and tem peratu re settings for best wind shield
and side wind ow defrosting.
on the outer edge of each instru ment panel outlet grille
opens or closes a shu tter to turn airflow on or off throu gh
that outlet.
NOTE: For maxim um airflow to the rear seat passen-
gers, the center instru ment panel outlets can be aimed, so
that the left center outlet is directed tow ard the right rear
passenger and the right center outlet is directed tow ard 4
the left rear passenger.
NOTE: The air cond itioning compressor operates in
both Mix and Defrost or a blend of these modes even if
the fan switch is not in the A/ C position. This dehu midi-
fies the air to help dry the wind shield . To improve fuel
econom y, use these modes only when necessary.

Use this control to regu late

side the passenger compart-
ment. The blue area of the
scale ind icates cooler tem -
peratu res while the red area
ind icates warm er tem pera-
tures.
Air Outlets
The airflow from each of the instru ment panel outlets can
be adjusted for direction and turned on or off to control
air flow.
A knob attached in the center of each instru ment panel
outlet is used to adjust the airflow direction, and a knob
