Using the clutch
Themanualtransmissionhasastarterinterlockthat
preventscrankingtheengineunlesstheclutchpedal
isfullydepressed.
Tostartthevehicle:
1.

Makesuretheparkingbrakeisfullyset.
Presstheclutchpedaltothefloor,thenputthe
gearshiftleverintheneutralposition.
3.
Starttheengine,thenpressthebrakepedaland
releasetheparkingbrake.
4.
slowlyreleasetheclutchpedalwhileslowlypressing
ontheaccelerator.
Movethegearshiftlevertothedesiredgear,then
Duringeachshift,theclutchpedalmustbefully
depressedtothefloor.Failuretofullydepressthe
clutchpedaltothefloormaycauseincreasedshift
effortsandprematurelywearcomponentsinthe
transmission.Makesurethefloormatisproperly
positionedsoitdoesn’tinterferewiththefull
extensionoftheclutchpedal.
Donotdrivewithyourfootrestingontheclutch
pedalorusetheclutchpedaltoholdyourvehicleat
