Removing the key

pushthereleaselever
(locatedabovethe
ignition),thenturnthe
keytowardyouand
removethekey.
DRIVING THROUGH WATER
Donotdrivequicklythroughstandingwater,
especiallyifthedepthisunknown.Tractionorbrake
capabilitymaybelimitedandiftheignitionsystem
getswet,yourenginemaystall.Watermayalso
enteryourengine’sairintakeandseverelydamage
yourengine.
Ifdrivingthroughdeeporstandingwateris
unavoidable,proceedveryslowly.Neverdrive
throughwaterthatishigherthanthebottomofthe
hubs(fortrucks)orthebottomofthewheelrims
(forcars).
Oncethroughthewater,alwaystrythebrakes.Wet
brakesdonotstopthevehicleaseffectivelyasdry
brakes.Dryingcanbeimprovedbymovingyour
vehicleslowlywhileapplyinglightpressureonthe
brakepedal.
Drivingthroughdeepwaterwherethe
transmissionventtubeissubmergedmayallow
waterintothetransmissionandcauseinternal
transmissiondamage.Havethefluidchecked
and,ifwaterisfound,replacethefluid.
