isresettoa“notreadyforI/Mtest”condition.To
readytheon-boarddiagnosticssystemforI/M
testing,aminimumof30minutesofcityand
highwaydrivingisnecessaryasdescribedbelow:

First,atleast10minutesofdrivingonan
expresswayorhighway.
Next,atleast20minutesdrivinginstop-and-go,
city-typetrafficwithatleastfouridleperiods.
Allowthevehicletositforatleasteighthours
withoutstartingtheengine.Then,starttheengine
andcompletetheabovedrivingcycle.Theengine
mustwarmuptoitsnormaloperatingtemperature.
Oncestarted,donotturnofftheengineuntilthe
abovedrivingcycleiscomplete.

Checkthepowersteeringfluid.Refertothe
scheduledmaintenanceguidefortheserviceinterval
schedules.Ifaddingfluidisnecessary,useonly
MERCONATF.
