Youarerequiredbylawtousesafetyrestraintsfor
childrenintheU.S.andCanada.Ifsmallchildren
(generallychildrenwhoarefouryearsoldor
youngerandwhoweigh18kg[40lbs]orless)ride
inyourvehicle,youmustputtheminsafetyseats
madeespeciallyforchildren.Checkyourlocaland
stateorprovinciallawsforspecificrequirements
regardingthesafetyofchildreninyourvehicle.
Whenpossible,alwaysplacechildrenunderage12
intherearseatofyourvehicle.Accidentstatistics
suggestthatchildrenaresaferwhenproperly
restrainedintherearseatingpositionsthaninthe
frontseatingposition.
