Anti-theft lug nuts (if equipped)
Ifyourvehicleisequippedwiththisfeature,oneof
thelugnutsoneachwheelmustberemovedand
replacedwithaspecialkey.Thekeyandregistration
cardareattachedtothelugwrenchandstoredwith
thesparetire.Ifyoulosethekey,sendthe
registrationcardtothemanufacturer(notthe
dealer)togetareplacementkey.Ifthelug
wrench/lugnutkeyassemblyislost,seeyour
nearestFordorLincolnMercurydealerwhohas
accesstothemastersetofkeys.Donotusean
impactwrenchwiththeanti-theftkey.
Toremovethe
anti-theftlugnut:
1.
Insertthekeyover
thelockinglugnut.
Makesureyouholdthekeysquaretothelugnut.If
youholdthekeyatanangle,youcoulddamagethe
keyandthelugnut.
2.
Placethelugnutwrenchoverthelugnutkeyand
applypressureonthekeywiththewrench.
3.
Turnthewrenchinacounterclockwisedirection
toremovethelugnut.
Toinstalltheanti-theftlugnut:
1.
Insertthekeyoverthelockinglugnut.
2.
Placethelugnutwrenchoverthelugnutkeyand
applypressureonthekeywiththewrench.
3.
Installthelugnutbyturningthewrench
clockwise.
JUMP STARTING YOUR VEHICLE
Thegasesaroundthebatterycanexplodeif
exposedtoflames,sparks,orlitcigarettes.
Anexplosioncouldresultininjuryorvehicle
damage.
Batteriescontainsulfuricacidwhichcan
burnskin,eyesandclothing,ifcontacted.
