TheSRSconsistsof:

areadinesslightandtone
adiagnosticmodule
andtheelectricalwiringwhichconnectsthe
components
Thediagnosticmodulemonitorsitsowninternal
circuitsandthesupplementalairbagelectrical
systemwarning(includingtheimpactsensors),the
systemwiring,theairbagsystemreadinesslight,the
airbagbackuppowerandtheairbagignitors.
Severalairbagsystemcomponentsgethot
afterinflation.Donottouchthemafter
inflation.
Iftheairbaghasdeployed,theairbagwill
notfunctionagainandmustbereplaced
immediately.Iftheairbagisnotreplaced,the
unrepairedareawillincreasetheriskofinjuryina
collision.
Determining if the system is operational
TheSRSusesareadinesslightintheinstrument
clusteroratonetoindicatetheconditionofthe
system.RefertoAirbagreadinesssectioninthe
Instrumentclusterchapter.Routinemaintenanceof
theairbagisnotrequired.
