Donotusealcohol,methanolorbrineorany
enginecoolantsmixedwithalcoholor
methanolantifreeze(coolant).Alcoholand
otherliquidscancauseenginedamagefrom
overheatingorfreezing.
Donotaddextrainhibitorsoradditivesto
thecoolant.Thesecanbeharmfuland
compromisethecorrosionprotectionofthe
enginecoolant.
Toreducetheriskofpersonalinjury,make
suretheengineiscoolbeforeunscrewing
thecoolantpressurereliefcap.Thecoolingsystem
isunderpressure;steamandhotliquidcancome
outforcefullywhenthecapisloosenedslightly.
Ifyoumustremovethepressurereliefcapor
radiatorcap(dependinguponengineapplication),
followthesestepstoavoidpersonalinjury:
1.
Beforeyouremovethecap,turntheengineoff
andletitcool.
2.
Whentheengineiscool,wrapathickcloth
aroundthecap.Slowlyturncapcounterclockwise
untilpressurebeginstorelease.
3.
Stepbackwhilethepressurereleases.
4.
released,usetheclothtoturnitcounterclockwise
andremovethecap.
