Checking engine coolant
Theconcentrationandlevelofenginecoolantshould
becheckedatthemileageintervalsinthescheduled
maintenanceguide.Thecoolantconcentration
shouldbemaintainedat50/50coolantandwater,
whichequatestoafreezepointof-36°C(-34°F).
Coolantconcentrationtestingispossiblewitha
hydrometerorantifreezetester(suchasthe
RotundaBatteryandAntifreezeTester,014–R1060).
Thelevelofcoolantshouldbemaintainedatthe
“
coldfull”of“coldfillrange”levelinthecoolant
reservoir.Ifthelevelfallsbelow,addcoolantperthe
instructionsintheAddingEngineCoolantsection.
Yourvehiclewasfactory-filledwitha50/50engine
coolantandwaterconcentration.Ifthe
concentrationofcoolantfallsbelow40%orabove
60%,
theenginepartscouldbecomedamagedornot
workproperly.A50–50mixtureofcoolantand
