TemperatureGauge
WARNING!
The tem peratu re gau ge show s engine coolant tem pera-
ture. Any read ing within the norm al range ind icates that
the engine cooling system is operating satisfactorily.
A hot engine cooling system is dangerous. You or
others could be badly burned by steam or boiling
coolant.Ifyoudecidetolookunderthehoodyour-
self, refer to Section 7 of this manual. Follow the
warningsunder“CoolingSystemPressureCap.”
The gau ge pointer will likely ind icate a higher tem pera-
ture when driving in hot weather, up mountain grad es,
or when tow ing a trailer. It shou ld not be allow ed to
exceed the upper limits of the norm al operating range.

ElectronicVehicleInformationCenterDisplay
When the appropriate cond itions exist, this display show s
the Electronic Vehicle Inform ation Center (EVIC) mes-
sages. Refer to “Electronic Vehicle Inform ation Center ”
later in this section. (See page 187 for more inform ation.)
CAUTION!
Driving with a hot engine cooling system could
damageyourvehicle.Iftemperaturegaugereads(H),
pulloverandstopthevehicle.Idlethevehiclewith
theairconditionerturnedoffuntilthepointerdrops
backintothenormalrange.Ifthepointerremainson
the “H”, and you hear continuous chimes, turn the
engineoffimmediately,andcallforservice.
15. TOW/HAULIndicatorLight
This light will illuminate when the TOW/
HAUL button has been selected . The TOW/
HAUL button is located in the center of the
instru ment panel (below the climate controls).
