WHAT TO DO IN EMERGENCIES
Spare Tire Removal
Preparations For Jacking
Fit the  jack hand le extension   over  the drive  nu t. Use  the
Lug Wrench  to rotate  the  nu t counter  clockw ise until  the
spare  is on  the grou nd  with  enou gh slack  in the  cable to
allow  to pull  the  tire out  from  und er  the vehicle.
Park  the   vehicle  on  a  firm  level   surface,  avoid   ice  or
slippery  areas, settheparkingbrake    and  place  the  gear
selector  in P  (Park). Turn  OFF  the ignition.
WARNING!
CAUTION!
Do not attempt to change a tire on the side of the
vehicle close to moving traffic. Pull far enough off
theroadtoavoidbeinghitwhenoperatingthejack
orchangingthewheel.
Thewinchmechanismisdesignedforusewiththe
jack extension tube only. Use of an air wrench or
other power tools is not recommended and can
damagethewinch.
Turn  on the  Hazard   Warning  Flasher.
Block both  the front  and  rear
of the wheel  diagonally   oppo-
site  of   the  jacking   position.
When  the spare  is  clear, tilt the  retainer  at  the end  of the
cable  and  pull it  throu gh the  center  of the  wheel.
