To assu re prop er engine lubrication, the engine oil must
be maintained at the correct level. Check the oil level at
regu lar intervals, such as every fuel stop .
ChangeEngineOil
Road cond itions as well as you r kind of driving affect the
interval at which you r oil shou ld be changed . Check the
follow ing to determ ine if any apply to you :
The best time to check the engine oil level is abou t 5
minu tes after a fully warm ed engine is shu t off or before
starting the engine after it has sat overnight.

Checking the oil while the vehicle is on level grou nd will
improve the accuracy of the oil level read ings. Maintain
the oil level in the SAFE level range. Adding 1 U.S. Quart

range will resu lt in the level being at the top of the SAFE
