STARTING AND OPERATING
FUEL REQUIREMENTS
Engines (If Equipped)
All engines (excep t 5.7L engines) are de-
signed to meet all emissions regu lations
and provid e excellent fuel econom y and
perform ance when using high quality un-
lead ed “regu lar” gasoline having an oc-
tane rating of 87. The use of prem ium
using high quality unlead ed gasoline having an octane
range of 87 to 89. The manu factu rer recom mend s the use
of 89 octane for optimum perform ance. The use of
prem ium gasoline is not recom mend ed. Und er norm al
cond itions, the use of prem ium gasoline will not provid e
a benefit over high quality regu lar and mid-grad e gaso-
lines, and in som e circumstances may resu lt in poorer
perform ance.
