Deployedairbagsandseatbeltpretensionerscannot
protect you in another collision. Have the airbags,
seatbeltpretensioner,andseatbeltretractorassem-
bly, replaced by an authorized dealer as soon as
possible. Also, have the Occupant Classification
Systemservicedaswell.

• Modificationstoanypartoftheairbagsystemcouldcauseittofail
when you need it. You could be injured if the airbag system is not
there to protect you. Do not modify the components or wiring,
includingaddinganykindofbadgesorstickerstothesteeringwheel
hubtrimcoverortheupperrightsideoftheinstrumentpanel.Donot
modifythefrontbumperorvehiclebodystructure.
Donotattempttomodifyanypartofyouradvancedairbagsystem.
The airbag may inflate accidentally or may not function properly if
modificationsaremade.Takeyourvehicletoanauthorizeddealerfor
anyadvancedairbagsystemservice.Ifyourseatincludingyourtrim
coverandcushionneedstobeservicedinanyway(includingremoval
orloosening/tighteningofseatattachmentbolts),takethevehicleto
yourauthorizeddealer.Onlymanufacturerapprovedseataccessories
maybeused.Ifitisnecessarytomodifyanadvancedairbagsystem
forpersonswithdisabilities,contactyourauthorizeddealer.
Donotplaceorhanganyitemssuchasadd-onvideoplayersonthe
rightfrontpassengerseatback.Theadditionalweightmaycausethe
OccupantClassificationSystemtobeunabletocorrectlyclassifythe
rightfrontoccupant.Thiscouldallowthepassengerfrontalairbagto
inflatewhenitisnotdesired.
Youneedproperkneeimpactprotectioninacollision.Donotmount
orlocateanyaftermarketequipmentonorbehindthekneebolsters.

EnhancedAccidentResponseFeature
If the airbags deploy after an impact and the electrical
system
rem ains functional, vehicles equ ipped with
power door locks will unlock autom atically. In addition,
approxim ately 5 second s after the vehicle has stop ped
moving, the interior lights will illuminate to aid visibility.

NOTE: The interior lights can only be deactivated if the
key is rem oved from the ignition switch or the vehicle is
driven.
