Remove the dipstick again and note the fluid level on

both sides. The fluid level shou ld be betw een the “HOT”
(upper) reference holes on the dipstick at norm al operat-
ing tem peratu re. The fluid level is only valid if there is a
solid coating of oil is seen on both sides of the dipstick. If
the fluid is low, add as requ ired into the dipstick tube.Do
notoverfill. After adding any quantity of oil throu gh the
oil fill tube, wait a minim um of two (2) minu tes for the oil
to fully drain into the transm ission before rechecking the
fluid level.
Beawarethatifthefluidtemperatureisbelow50°F
°C)itmaynotregisteronthedipstick.Donotadd
fluid until the temperature is elevated enough to
produceanaccuratereading.

Check for leaks. Release parking brake.
To prevent dirt and water from entering the transm ission
after checking or rep lenishing fluid, make certain that the
dipstick cap is prop erly reseated . It is norm al for the
dposition,ipstick capas tolongspringas itsbacksealslightlyrem ainsfromengagedits fully inseatedthe 7
NOTE: If it is necessary to check the transm ission below
the operating tem peratu re, the fluid level shou ld be
betw een the two “COLD” (lower) holes on the dipstick
with the fluid at approxim ately 70°F (21°C) (room tem -
peratu re). If the fluid level is correctly established at
room tem peratu re, it shou ld be betw een the “HOT”
(upper) reference holes when the transm ission reaches
dipstick tube.
