Be sure to clean the top of the master cylind er area before
rem oving the cap. If necessary, add fluid to bring the
fluid level up to the requ irem ents described on the brake
fluid reservoir. With disc brakes, fluid level can be
expected to fall as the brake pads wear. However, low
fluid level may be caused by a leak and a checku p may be
need ed.
WARNING!
Overfilling the brake fluid reservoir can result in
spilling brake fluid on hot engine parts and the
brakefluidcatchingfire.
Use only brake fluid that has been in a tightly closed
container to avoid contam ination from foreign matter. Do
not allow petroleu m base fluid to contam inate the brake
fluid as seal damage will resu lt.
Use only manu factu rer’s recom mend ed brake fluid, refer
to Fluids, Lubricants, and Genu ine Parts for correct fluid
typ e.

transm ission to assu re optimum transm ission perfor-

for correct fluid typ e. It is important that the transm ission
fluid be maintained at the prescribed level using the
recom mend ed fluid.
Use of a brake fluid that may have a lower initial
boilingpointorunidentifiedastospecification,may
result in sudden brake failure during hard pro-
longedbraking.Youcouldhaveanaccident.
