If using a manu al transm ission vehicle for trailer tow ing,
all starts must be in FIRST gear to avoid excessive clutch
slippage.
The autom atic transm ission fluid and filter shou ld be
changed if you REGULARLY tow a trailer for more than
45 minu tes of continu ous operation. See Sched ule “B” in
section 8 of this manu al for transm ission fluid change
intervals.

The “D” range can be selected when tow ing. However, if
frequ ent shifting occurs while in this range, the ”Tow/
Haul” mode (if equ ipped) or the “3” range shou ld be
selected . Shift the transm ission to Drive position 2 on
more severe grad es.

Check the autom atic transm ission fluid level
before tow ing.

− When using the speed control, if you experience speed
drop s greater than 10 mph (16 km/ h), disengage until
you can get back to cruising speed .

Use speed control in flat terrain and with light load s to
maxim ize fuel efficiency.
