STARTING AND OPERATING

Key ON,  engine  off.
Vehicle stop ped,  with  foot  on brake.
Place  transm ission  in N  (Neutral).
Hold  down  N (Neutral)  “pin”  switch  (with  a pen, etc.)
for 4 second s  until  the LED  lamp  by the  switch  starts  to
blink ind icating  shift in progress.  Lamp  will stop  blinking
(stay  on solid ) when   Neutral  shift  is complete.   A “4WD
SYSTEM  IN  NEUTRAL”   message   will  display   on  the
EVIC  (Electronic  Vehicle  Inform ation   Center).  Refer  to
“
Electronic  Vehicle  Inform ation  Center   (EVIC)”  in  Sec-
NeutralSwitch
tion  4 of  this  manu al.  (See page  187  for more  inform  a-
tion.)
5.  Repeat  Steps 1–  4 to shift  out  of Neutral.
