UNDERSTANDING YOUR INSTRUMENT PANEL
Automatic Temperature Control If  Equipped
The  Infrared   Dual-Zone   Climate   Control  System   auto-
matically  maintains   the interior   comfort  level desired   by
the driver   and passenger.   This is accom plished  by a  dual
sun-sensor   in  the  top  of  the  instru ment   panel,  and   an
infrared   sensor  located   in  the  face  of  the  control  unit.
There  are also  variou s sensors  monitored   by  this system
which   take  accou nt  for   vehicle  speed ,  A/ C  pressu  re,
outsid e  tem peratu re,  and   engine   cooling  tem peratu re.
The infrared   sensor  ind epend ently  measu res the  surface
tem peratu re  of the  driver   and  passenger.   Based  on  the
sensor   inp ut, the   system   autom atically  adjusts   the   air
flow  tem peratu re,  the  air flow  volu me,  and  amount   of
outsid e  air  recircu lation.  This  maintains    a  comfortable
tem peratu re even  und er  changing  cond itions.
AutomaticTemperatureControls
NOTE:   The nu mbers  on the  tem peratu re dial  rep resent
a comfort  setting  when  the Mod e knob is set to Auto,  and
not  the actu al air  tem peratu re.
Operation  of the  system  is quite simple.  Begin  by turning
the  right   mode  knob   to  AUTO,  and  place   the  blow er
control  (left knob)  to  either  LO AUTO or  HI AUTO.  The
