Adding Coolan t
Coolin g System Pressu re Cap
When adding coolant, a minim um solu tion of 50% rec-
ommend ed ethylene glycol antifreeze coolant in water
shou ld be used . Use higher concentrations (not to exceed
The cap must be fully tightened to prevent loss of

if tem peratu res below -37°F (-38°C) are anticip ated .
The cap shou ld be insp ected and cleaned if there is any
accumulation of foreign material on the sealing surfaces.
Use only high purity water such as distilled or deionized
water when mixing the water/ antifreeze solu tion. The
use of lower quality water will red uce the amount of
corrosion protection in the engine cooling system .
WARN ING!
The warn ing word s DO NOT OPEN HOT on the
coolin g system pressu re cap are a safety precau tion .
Never add coolan t when the engin e is overh eated .
Do not loosen or rem ove the cap to cool an over-
heated engin e. Heat causes pressu re to build up in
the coolin g system . To preven t scald ing or injury, do
not rem ove the pressu re cap while the system is hot
or under pressu re.
Please note that it is the owner’s resp onsibility to main-
tain the prop er level of protection against freezing ac-
cord ing to the tem peratu res occurring in the area where
the vehicle is operated .

NOTE: Mixing coolant typ es will decrease the life of the
engine coolant and will requ ire more frequ ent engine
