brak e flu id catch ing fire.
Usin g a tran smission flu id oth er than the manufac-
turer’s recom mended flu id may cause deterioration
in tran smission shift quality and/or torq ue converter
shudder. Usin g a tran smission flu id oth er than the
manufactu rer’s recom mended flu id will resu lt in
more freq uent flu id and filter changes. Refer to
Recom mended Fluids, Lubrican ts, and Genuine
Parts for correct flu id typ e.
Use only brake fluid that has been in a tightly closed
container to avoid contam ination from foreign matter. Do
not allow petroleu m base fluid to contam inate the brake
fluid as seal damage will resu lt.

Fluid Level Check – 3.7L 42RLE
This fluid level shou ld be checked when the engine is 7
fully warm ed up and the fluid in the transm ission is
heated to its norm al operating tem peratu re. Operation of
the transm ission with an improp er fluid level will greatly
red uce the life of the transm ission and of the fluid.
It is important that the prop er lubricant is used in the
transm ission to assu re optimum transm ission perfor-
mance. Use only manu factu rer’s recom mend ed transm is-
sion fluid, refer to Recom mend ed Fluids, Lubricants, and
Genu ine Parts for correct fluid typ e. It is important that
the transm ission fluid be maintained at the prescribed
level using the recom mend ed fluid.
