light as an ind ication if the front passenger is prop erly
positioned or not. If the PAD ind icator light comes on
when an adult is in the passenger seat, have the passen- 2
ger re-p osition them selves in the seat until the light goes
out. Remember, if the PAD ind icator light is illuminated
the passenger front airbag will not inflate. For prop erly
installed child restraint system s and child ren prop erly
seated on the front passenger seat, the airbag will be
disabled . If at all possible, place child ren 12 years and
you nger in a back seat.

The Driver and Passen ger Airb ag/In flator Units are
located in the center of the steering wheel and the right
side of the instru ment panel. When the ORC detects a
collision requ iring the airbags, it signals the inflator
units. A large quantity of nontoxic gas is generated to
