Child Restraint

time — babies and child ren, too. Every state in the United
States and all Canad ian provinces requ ire that small
child ren rid e in prop er restraint system s. This is the law,
and you can be prosecu ted for ignoring it.

It is dangerou s to try to rep air any part of the
airb ag system you rself. Be sure to tell anyon e who
work s on you r veh icle that it has an airb ag system .
Child ren 12 years and und er shou ld rid e prop erly buck-
led up in a rear seat, if available. Accord ing to crash
statistics, child ren are safer when prop erly restrained in
the rear seats rather than in the front.
Airb ag Warn ing Ligh t
You will want to have the airbag system read y to inflate
for you r protection in an impact. The airbag system is
designed to be maintenance free. If any of the follow ing
occurs, have an authorized dealer service the system
prom ptly:

ignition switch is first turned on.
