TRANSFER GEARBOX
SWITCH - LOW DETECT
Service repair no - 41.30.05
Remove
12. Release switch multiplug from bracket on
transfer gearbox, disconnect from harness.

Remove battery cover.
Disconnect battery negative lead.
Remove gear lever knobs.
Remove gearbox tunnel carpet.
Remove gear lever(s) gaiter.
Release and remove insulation pad from around
gear levers.

Refit

Remove switch.
Clean switch and mating face on transfer
gearbox.

Remove 2 screws securing relay/fuse panel and
collect 2 spacers.
Release bulkhead carpet from LH side of tunnel
and move aside.
Remove 2 bolts securing hand-brake lever to
body and move lever aside.

Fit nut/spacer to switch with counterbore
positioned towards switch head.
Apply Hylomar PL32 sealant to switch threads.
Fit switch and tighten to 24 Nm (19 lbf.ft).
Connect multiplug to harness.
Fit and align tunnel cover, fit and tighten screws.
Position hand-brake lever and tighten bolts to 25
Nm (18 lbf.ft).

Secure bulkhead carpet to LH side of tunnel.
Position relay/fuse panel, fit spacers and tighten
screws.

Fit insulation pad around gear levers.
Fit gear lever (s) gaiter.
Fit gearbox tunnel carpet.
Fit gear lever knobs.
Reconnect battery negative lead.
Fit battery cover.

Remove 13 screws securing tunnel cover.
Release and remove tunnel cover.
REPAIR
