SECURILOCK™ PASSIVE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM
SecuriLock™passiveanti-theftsystemisanengineimmobilization
system.Thissystemisdesignedtohelppreventtheenginefrombeing
startedunlessacodedkeyprogrammedtoyourvehicleisused.The
useofthewrongtypeofcodedkeymayleadtoa“no-start”condition.
Yourvehiclecomeswithtwocodedkeys;additionalcodedkeysmaybe
purchasedfromyourauthorizeddealer.Theauthorizeddealercan
programyoursparekeystoyourvehicleoryoucanprogramthekeys
yourself.RefertoProgrammingsparekeysforinstructionsonhowto
programthecodedkey.
Note:TheSecuriLock™passiveanti-theftsystemisnotcompatiblewith
non-Fordaftermarketremotestartsystems.Useofthesesystemsmay
resultinvehiclestartingproblemsandalossofsecurityprotection.
Note:Largemetallicobjects,electronicdevicesthatareusedto
purchasegasolineorsimilaritems,orasecondcodedkeyonthesame
keychainmaycausevehiclestartingissues.Youneedtopreventthese
objectsfromtouchingthecodedkeywhilestartingtheengine.These
objectswillnotcausedamagetothecodedkey,butmaycausea
momentaryissueiftheyaretooclosetothekeywhenstartingthe
engine.Ifaproblemoccurs,turntheignitionoff,removeallobjectson
thekeychainawayfromthecodedkeyandrestarttheengine.
Anti-theft indicator
Theanti-theftindicatorislocatedontopoftheinstrumentpanel.
•
Whentheignitionisinthe1(OFF/LOCK)position,theindicatorwill
flashonceevery2secondstoindicatetheSecuriLock™systemis
functioningasatheftdeterrent.
•
Whentheignitionisinthe3(ON)position,theindicatorwillglowfor
3
secondstoindicatenormalsystemfunctionality.
IfaproblemoccurswiththeSecuriLock™system,theindicatorwillflash
rapidlyorglowsteadilywhentheignitionisinthe3(ON)position.If
thisoccurs,thevehicleshouldbetakentoanauthorizeddealerfor
service.
