Belt-Minderா
TheBelt-Minderfeatureisasupplementalwarningtothesafetybelt
warningfunction.Thisfeatureprovidesadditionalremindersby
intermittentlysoundingachimeandilluminatingthesafetybeltwarning
lightintheinstrumentclusterwhenthedriver’sandfrontpassenger’s
safetybeltisunbuckled.
TheBelt-Minderfeatureusesinformationfromthefrontpassenger
sensingsystemtodetermineifafrontseatpassengerispresentand
thereforepotentiallyinneedofawarning.Toavoidactivatingthe
Belt-Minderfeatureforobjectsplacedinthefrontpassengerseat,
warningswillonlybegiventolargefrontseatoccupantsasdetermined
bythefrontpassengersensingsystem.
Boththedriver’sandpassenger’ssafetybeltusagesaremonitoredand
eithermayactivatetheBelt-Minderfeature.Thewarningsarethesame
forthedriverandthefrontpassenger.IftheBelt-Minderwarningshave
expired(warningsforapproximately5minutes)foroneoccupant(driver
orfrontpassenger),theotheroccupantcanstillactivatethe
Belt-Minderfeature.
WhentheBelt-Minderfeatureisactivated,thesafetybeltwarninglight
illuminatesandthewarningchimesoundsfor6secondsevery30
seconds,repeatingforapproximately5minutesoruntilthesafetybelts
arebuckled.
