IftheSafetyCanopy™systemhasdeployed,theSafety
Canopy™willnotfunctionagain.TheSafetyCanopy™
system(includingtheA,BandCpillartrim)mustbeinspected
andservicedbyanauthorizeddealer.IftheSafetyCanopy™isnot
replaced,theunrepairedareawillincreasetheriskofinjuryina
collision.
Determiningifthesystemisoperational
TheSRSusesareadinesslightintheinstrumentclusteroratoneto
indicatetheconditionofthesystem.RefertotheAirbagreadiness
sectionintheInstrumentClusterchapter.Routinemaintenanceofthe
airbagisnotrequired.
Anydifficultywiththesystemisindicatedbyoneormoreofthe
following:

Thereadinesslight(samelightasforfrontairbagsystem)willeither
flashorstaylit.
Thereadinesslightwillnotilluminateimmediatelyafterignitionis
turnedon.
Aseriesoffivebeepswillbeheard.Thetonepatternwillrepeat
periodicallyuntiltheproblemandlightarerepaired.
Ifanyofthesethingshappen,evenintermittently,havetheSRSserviced
atauthorizeddealerimmediately.Unlessserviced,thesystemmaynot
functionproperlyintheeventofacollisionorrolloverevent.
Disposal of airbags and airbag equipped vehicles

personnel.
