Stowing the flat/spare tire
Note:Failuretofollowsparetirestowageinstructionsmayresultin

Laythetireonthegroundwiththevalvestemfacingup,towardthe
vehicle.

throughthewheelcenter.Pullonthecabletoalignthecomponentsat
theendofthecable.
Slidethewheelpartiallyunderthevehicleandinstalltheretainer

Turnthelugwrenchclockwiseuntilthetireisraisedtoitsstowed
positionunderneaththevehicle.Theefforttoturnthejackhandle
increasessignificantlyandthesparetirecarrierratchetsorslipswhen
thetireisraisedtothemaximumtightness.Tightentothebestofyour
ability,tothepointwheretheratchet/slipoccurs,ifpossible.Thespare
tirecarrierwillnotallowyoutoovertighten.Ifthesparetirecarrier
ratchetsorslipswithlittleeffort,takethevehicletoyourauthorized
dealerforassistanceatyourearliestconvenience.

Checkthatthetireliesflatagainsttheframeandisproperly
tightened.Trytopushorpull,thenturnthetiretobesureitwillnot
move.Loosenandretighten,ifnecessary.Failuretoproperlystowthe
sparetiremayresultinfailureofthewinchcableandlossofthetire.
