Vehicleswithahighercenterofgravitysuchasutilityvehicles
andtruckshandledifferentlythanvehicleswithalowercenter
ofgravity.Utilityvehiclesandtrucksarenotdesignedforcorneringat
speedsashighaspassengercarsanymorethanlow-slungsportscars
aredesignedtoperformsatisfactorilyunderoff-roadconditions.Avoid
sharpturns,excessivespeedorabruptmaneuversinthesevehicles.
Failuretodrivecautiouslycouldresultinanincreasedriskoflossof
vehiclecontrol,vehiclerollover,personalinjuryanddeath.
Loadedvehicles,withahighercenterofgravity,mayhandle
differentlythanunloadedvehicles.Donotoverloadyourvehicle
anduseextraprecautions,suchasdrivingatslowerspeeds,avoiding
abruptsteeringchangesandallowingforincreasedstoppingdistance,
whendrivingaheavilyloadedvehicle.Over-loadingorloadingthe
vehicleimproperlycandeterioratehandlingcapabilityandcontribute
tolossofvehiclecontrolandvehiclerollover.
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION OPERATION
Brake-shift interlock
Thisvehicleisequippedwithabrake-shiftinterlockfeaturethatprevents
thegearshiftleverfrombeingmovedfromP(Park)whentheignitionis
intheONpositionunlessbrakepedalisdepressed.
IfyoucannotmovethegearshiftleveroutofP(Park)withignitionin
theONpositionandthebrakepedaldepressed:
1.Applytheparkingbrake,turnignitionkeytoLOCK,thenremovethe
key.
2.
Removetherubberpadatthe
bottomofthecupholdertolocate
theaccesscapofthefloorshifter
assembly.
3.
Usingascrewdriver(or
equivalent),removetheaccess
panelanddepresstheshifterlever
ontheshiftmechanism.
4.
ApplythebrakeandshiftintoN(Neutral).
